How to make a removable translucent dome

Just in case anyone was interested in making an astronaut, old school scuba, or Mr. Freeze, figured I'd impart you with my knowledge... and some temporary crappy pictures.

First off, the tools. There are variables here, but these are what is required for a better finished piece.
One head... take your pick.
One head holder... if you customize ths scale you've likely figured out a few.
A jar of Mod Podge
A dental pick or something thin and rounded that can do the job.
A needle, in the event you use something other than a dental pick.

Mount you head and dip it in the Mod Podge. You can do whatever you want before hand, but unless paint is sealed there's a good chance it'll come off and be a pain on the inside. This is a very time consuming processs, but the vast majority of the time is passive. Dip the head once. It'll come out with a bit of excess bulging at the top of the head, but you can just work that out on the inside rim of the jar. You'll start noticing air bubbles coming to the surface. This is where you'll want the needle or the first use of the dental tool. Pop any you see, then... it's a waiting game. Instead of the 15 minutes you'd usually wait painting on a layer, it's going to take about 6 hours before it's fully set and clear.

Now... repeat that 6 or 7 times or however thick you want the dome. When fully set, you'll notice the dried Mod Podge magnifies the head, but you'll have a domed head.

When that's all done, you're going to work the dental tool up the face or if you have any sculpting that's probably a good place to start too.

Make your way around the whole head and you'll end up with a removable domed head!

For ant man, since you wouldn't be looking for something see thru, you could plastic wrap the head one or two layers deep and build the base with low temp hot glue. Much quicker and still gets something removable and more flexible.
