Saw these (well, the figures they came from) at the flea market last weekend and they looked to be the right size for bloks bodies so I picked 'em up. After a little work with a razor blade and a dremel this is what I've got:
blogness's WIP Heads1z
blogness's WIP 20121117133904

I left the necks on them all except the one to the far right. I was dremelling the neck hole and the dremel went straight through the side of his neck affraid so I took the rest of it off. I think I might take the necks off the others as well.

They look pretty good either way, neck o and off. Looks like we got some more Dragon Ball customs coming?

Yeah these work well, me I am not a DBZ guy so much, but I do some some of these heads working great for customs. I like them with out the necks myself.

Good score.

I used to be a pretty big DBZ fan back in the day. I still enjoy some of the fighting games.

I plan on making a couple of these into full DBZ figures but I have non-DBZ plans for one or two of them.

Whoa! What happened to that first image!? When I posted it and checked the first time around, it was the same size as the 2nd one!

ANYWAY, the figures I found were pretty old, some of them were dated back to 1989 even! I'm not sure what/where they are originally from.

I was doing some eBay searching last night and found ones that would work there too. Check 'em out
Those are different than the ones I picked up, but they look a little better IMO.

Here we go, a quick eBay search again and I found these. Those look like some of the ones I found at the flea market.

Nice find! I remember passing these up back when they were imported for a short while. Can't say I'm really cool with the truncated hair on Gohan and Trunks, but it definitely shows how toy technology has made leaps and bounds since then.

This also reminds me of how much I miss the flea markets in Orlando... I had the DBZ movies on vhs a while before they came out here. Now to decide whether I should try to hunt a couple of these down or just continue working on sculpting the hair...

Oh man, I'm a huge DBZ fan and I'm loving this! (I'm wearing a DBZ T-shirt right now. LOL). Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Finally started work on this guy:
blogness's WIP 20121203114433

Here are his pieces all parted out and primed:
blogness's WIP 20130223235129

I've since, possibly regrettably, sprayed him in chrome. I have a pic somewhere, can't find it at the moment. It looks amazing. The only problem is that the chrome paint doesn't react well to oils (like on your fingertips) and there is no clear coat that I have found that will coat it without turning it from chrome to dull gray. On top of that, I contacted the manufacturer and they said they have not found a clear coat product of their own or from another brand that doesn't have the same effect. Ugh... Any help on that would be awesome.

Otherwise, I can't wait to paint on some accents and a wash.

Here are 2 pics of it chromed up. One has the 2 silver elites I did for comparison.
blogness's WIP Img20130321094907

blogness's WIP Img20130321094322

If you look at the second pic, the foot on the left has become dull from handling it with dirty hands.

After researching chrome paints for a bit, I found results with clear coating matching mine. I also found some paint that would work called Alsa Corporartions Killer Chrome in a can. Only problem is that it's $129.99 before shipping for the primer, chrome and sealer. Just a bit steep... but if you can find the video check it out. The end result is a durable, mirror finish.

Thanks JR. I haven't heard of that Bosny Chrome before. It looks pretty legit and it wouldn't cost nearly as much as the stuff I did find.

I still haven't done any more work on that chrome sucker yet, too afraid terrible things will happen.
I did, however, get a bunch of work done on this:
blogness's WIP Img1605w
blogness's WIP Img1606lc

Other than sculpt touch-ups before the paint, I need just one part for it to be complete.
2 cookies if you can guess who without the head and paint. pirat

It looks familiar, but I cant place it. Excellent symmetry on the collar.

Thanks. It's a little more lens trickery than symmetry though. The collar on his right side is ever so slightly farther back than the left side.

Hint; At least two other members here have done their own versions of this guy already.

2 cookies for Paul! He is indeed becoming MGS Solid Snake. It is loosely based on the one I bought from you and the Play Arts Kai action figure, here: http://www.playimport.com/en/new-figures/39333-metal-gear-solid-play-arts-kai-pre-painted-figure-solid-snake-4988601316293.html

I primed him over the weekend and will probably put the first coat of light gray on it today.
