Wow... went through what I hadn't seen yet and it's all looking good! That blood dragon armor is a definite standout!

Re: Emeralds custom bloks (pic heavy)
Thanks guys, glad to hear my time wasnt wasted.
Practically finished my prototype MOC TMNT battle shell.
Its a dam sight bigger than the Official Megaboks one. Ragerock is only there for size comparison, since my Custom tmnt body is on his way to the states. Excuse the hodgepodge of random bricks thrown together. I just used whatever i had to make WIP model to give an idea of how many briks i would need. The answer? A shit-ton! I'm not sure one UNSC elpehant set will be enough. This prototype has a few neat features.
First of all the front grill can lift up to reveal to missle launchers. The wont actually fire anything, just there to look cool.
Back doors (well one atm) open to reveal the back. small comp station, weapons rack and space for a small vehicle.
My favorite feature. The back roof opens like the classic party wagon, and at the same time reveals pop out cannons. I love that double sided brick.
I had to borrow these pieces from my MB battle shell.
WTF are these called? I have scrolled thru every list on LEGO pick a brick and cannot find them, but i remember seeing them on there. I need at least 5 sets.

It's huge! Looking good shapewise. I actually agree, a single elephant might not be able to take on this mighty beast!

Thanks LOKA. Thats really weird, I swear I have seen them on legos pick a brick, at least the Hinge plate 1 x 4 with 6 fingers. It think I had "upper piece" marked on it. So is there anyway I can get those parts from that catalog, or will I just have to lookout for them?

Re: Emeralds custom bloks (pic heavy)
I have a few in different colors, lots of probuilder sets used them. Lego has a similar piece, but it doesn't have the six fingers, it's more like the way they fasten doors to their frames. I can look it up for you after I'm done with work, or look for the piece in my collection and show you what I mean.

Re: Emeralds custom bloks (pic heavy)
You could buy the 1x1 hinge plates, lay them alongside a 1x2 plate and add a tile across the top to make your own.

Since this guys has found his way to his new owner via the christmas exchange and the new owner knows its from me, I see now problem posting this now. I also just wanted to post something
Took my fave Halo armour and repainted it. No particular inspiration for the colour scheme, just thought it would look good.

The color scheme looks great! Really like the contrast of blue and silver! Cyberman and Mass Effect came out very impressive! Way to go!

Re: Emeralds custom bloks (pic heavy)
lovin the idea of the blue effects... i was thinking it was from a blue plasma energy or something glowing behind the armor

Re: Emeralds custom bloks (pic heavy)
Thanks guys, it was actually just meant to be blue lights on the armour. Didnt have a lighter metallic blue so I just used that "Ice blue" paint. Think I over did the dry brushing on his chest. Meant to just highlight the edges but ended up painting the whole section silver. BTW anyone know the best way to dry brush? I keep ruining brushes every time i do this shit.
Now its Jan the new panda wow sets should be showing up soon. Cant wait to get one for my first chubby custom.

Re: Emeralds custom bloks (pic heavy)
So I was screwing around with my many fodder bins and found the legs from my wargeymon I gutted for the claws long ago. On a whim, I decided to try and use on a MB fig:
While it will need some work, i feel these work pretty well. The feel dont grip studs but they are so big they dont need to. Need some longer arms, im thinkg these legs combined with a skylander giant arms, we could have some really hulking customs.
In the same vain using a TFP Arcee also yeilded some nice custom possibilites. The ball joints on Arcee did stretch cortana's legs a little but its no big deal.

Re: Emeralds custom bloks (pic heavy)
Not sure what Im gonna do with those bodies, need an idea first.
Found some more bodies from a very unlikely source.
Some of you may know Im a massive Sonic the hedgehog fan. Ive been trying to make some sonic minifigs for ages with some varying results. I had trouble keeping the character proportions accurate. Those tiny bodies and limbs, coupled with the HUGE heads were a bitch replicate. Untill I got the Idea of using a Jazzwares sonic body. Anyone who buys jazwares stuff will likely raise eybrows on this and I wouldnt blame em, Jazzwares are shit!
Embeded a single stud piece on the bottom with his leg. This way he gains foot swivels and I can swap out his shoes whenever I feel. Wish his legs were even but I cant do symmetry.
Also came across this.
Using a Wave figure from the same line, I think we have a fairly slim female body with articulation. The elbows could be thinner but that that joint does have a neat trick up its sleeve.
Elbow swivels! Needs a bit of work I think this has potentail.
Sadly these are huge next to other MB figs. Sonic is only supossed to be 3 feet tall. Making a highly possable fig to be apporiately scaled to other figs is just not possible.

Nice WIPs. I like Sonic even if he's larger than desired.

Re: Emeralds custom bloks (pic heavy)
Thanks PR, I do like how its going but im still gonna work on a smaller scaled sonic.
So I finished sculpting this.
Here we have a custom of my very own White Wolf, You can see him in the creative works thread. Think I got replicated all the details nicely. Ignore the silly hammer, I just wanted him to hold sumat. although that head was a b*** to sculpt. Dam those eyes!
WIP wargreymon. Sculpted a new torso on a venom body and thats really all I can do right now. His other claw and shoulder peice are caged up in DRs dungeon along with his head and braveshield. Im looking into making the legs more mega block like so they could be casted. The knee is a typical action fig joint where the lower leg is conected by a pin and wedged inbetween a gap on the upper leg. Any ideas?
Got me a new sword.

These all look awesome brother, the sculpting is top notch, love it.
Re: Emeralds custom bloks (pic heavy)
White wolf is going to look so fucking awesome with some paint.

Hope I met those expectations...
Its official. I hate white paint. Its so easy to mess up and doesnt apply evenly. His head could of turned out better, its a bit lop sided and that bothers the fuck out of me. I might use an amazing spider-man head. The fur has 3 layers of paint going on and im quite happy with how it turned out.

Re: Emeralds custom bloks (pic heavy)
I love White Wolf, Emerald! Head doesn't look lopsided in the pics!
In this case, the white goes very well with the fur apps. If you are wishing the white was smoother, I think it might look too "clean" considering in contrast with the fur.
Is that a lamp post/pipe he's wielding?
Awesome, creative custom!
